Akatsi North Youth want roads fixed

The Concerned Youth of Akatsi North Group has appealed to the Government to urgently rehabilitate the feeder roads in the Akatsi North District to enable the residents to undertake their socio-economic activities without much hassle.

The convener of the Group, Mr Daniel Lumor, told the Ghana News Agency that the people, who were mostly farmers, were finding it extremely difficult to go to their farms on rainy days as the floods made the already bad roads impassable.

He said on ordinary days, most of them had to hire ‘Okada’ to get to their farms or businesses but when the roads got flooded they either swam or abandoned their productive activities.

The situation, he said, was undermining their livelihoods and wellbeing.

Mr Lumor mentioned some of the roads as Afiadenyigba-Zomayi-Ahorkpor; Afiadenyigba-Seva; Hevi-Etekorkope; Fiave Sanyi-Metrikasa; Avega-Nyitawuta; Atanve-Kpegbadza; Agbondo-Yevi-Nyitawuta and Dakpa-Avega-Akatsi.
