Akatsi North youth cry for market

Mr. Daniel Lumor, convener of Concerned Youth of Akatsi North, has appealed to the government and the Akatsi North District Assembly to provide them with a befitting market.

He said one of the ways to eliminate poverty was for the government to make the area attractive to foreign investors by providing good social amenities and infrastructure including markets.

Mr Lumor expressed disquiet at the way issues of the Ave-Dakpa Shopping Mall Project are being handled.

“The time has come for our leaders to stop talking and painting the picture to outsiders as though all is well with us in the area. We need to unite and work hard to solve our problems,” he said.

Madam Afi Lanyo, a trader, told the GNA that they would have been happy if the district assembly had given them a provisional market place before demolishing the old market for a shopping mall which is yet to be constructed.
