Akatsi North NPP reacts to PAC

Mr Alex Adenyo, Akatsi North Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has debunked claims that the District is the best performing district in the Volta Region for 2014.

Mr Adenyo was reacting to the claims by the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Parliament.

He told the Ghana News Agency that receipts issued on payments and expenditure made over the period was not enough justification for PAC to conclude that the assembly and the District Chief Executive had performed well.

He described the publication as nothing other than a political trick to hoodwink the public that the district is doing well.

“If PAC had known the way and manner residents are boiling in the area over lack of development and failed promises, they would not have looked onto faces of papers to adjudge our district and its chief executive as best performers,” he said.

Mr Adenyo said the receipts received by the PAC indicating that the assembly spent more than GH? 40, 000.00 last year on 145 persons with disabilities is not the reality on the ground.

PAC commended the district as the best performer in the region for presenting and defending receipts of payments and expenditure made since its inception in 2012.
