Akatsi needs more phone booths

Akatsi (Volta Region) 28 Oct. ’98 Mr Clement Ahiawodzi, a senior project officer of the Ministry of Education, has appealed to Ghana Telecom to install more telephone booths at “vantage points” at Akatsi to improve commercial activities in the district. Mr Ahiawodzi, in an interview with the GNA, stressed “the need for increased communication systems in the Akatsi district”, saying without adequate information, policy makers can hardly be effective in the administration of the district. He said there was the need to install telephone booths at Akatsi Teacher Training College, Akatsi Secondary/Technical school, Ghana Education Service, District Assembly offices, the health centre and the Market Square. He said the only booth at Akatsi Post Office has been drawing queues daily, clear evidence that it cannot meet the demands of its several patrons..
