Akatsi Holds Induction Service For 168 Teachers

Akatsi, (v/r)July 2, An induction service for 168 newly- trained teachers at the Akatsi teacher training college in the Volta region was held at the weekend. Preaching at the service, the principal of the Peki Theological Seminary, Reverend Obed Kwadwo Klu, called on them to live up to the values of the teaching profession. Rev Klu who based his sermon on the theme: “The well informed teacher with a clear vision” urged the new teachers to put what they learned at the college into practice and share their knowledge with their pupils. He advised them to be dedicated in the discharge of their duties and to work hard to win the confidence of the community stressing that “as the salt of the profession, you must be seen as objective teachers, humble and upright in all your dealings with the community”. Rev Klu who was one of the first batch of students to pass out from the Akatsi college in 1967, urged them to help their pupils to overcome problems and be useful citizens.
