Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam to form brass band and youth choir

Ajumako (C/R), May 8, GNA – The Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam District Assembly has decided to form a District Regimental Brass Band and Youth Choir to help development the talents of young people in the area.

The District Chief Executive, Mr. Peter Light Koomson said this at the fourth meeting of the Ajumako-Enyan-District Assembly, at Ajumako. He said: “The district has been endowed with a crop of youth who are musically talented and this must not be made to go waste”. Mr. Koomson said young people who might gain experience through brass band activities would find it easier to be enlisted into the security agencies.

“Moreover, the Regimental Band would serve citizens of the district for a minimal fee”.

Mr. Koomson said that the youth choir would be under the auspices of the Centre for National Culture but managed by the Assembly and will be groomed to measure up to the standards of the Winneba Youth Choir. 8 May 10
