AIDS Commission present bicycles for HIV/AIDS campaign

Wa, April 14, GNA – The Ghana AIDS Commission donated five bicycles costing four million cedis to the Upper West Regional Co-ordinating Council for distribution among community based organisations engaged in the HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention campaigns in the districts. Mr Abu Fuseini, procurement manager of the Commission, presented the bicycles on behalf of the Commission.

He said the donation was to enhance the mobility of members of the community-based organisations to enable them work assiduously. Receiving the bicycles, Alhaji Issahake Alhassan, acting Regional Co-ordinating Director, commended the Commission for the assistance and said it arrived as time when figures indicated a rise in the member of HIV/AIDS cases in the region.

He assured the commission that the bicycles would be put to their intended use.
