Ahobre gets street lights

Ahobre (W/R), Aug 31, , Mr. Joseph Ackah, Member of Parliament for Jomoro, has commissioned a streetlight project at Ahobre as part of activities marking this year’s annual Akwaba festival of the chiefs and people.

Mr. Ackah contributed two million cedis from his share of the common fund towards the project. Ahobre citizens in Cote d’Ivoire took care of the rest of the cost while citizens at home provided communal labour. The total cost of the project could not be immediately obtained.

Addressing the people, Nana Erzuah Ebulley, chief of Ahobre, thanked the government for connecting the town to the national grid.

He appealed to the Jomoro District Assembly to assist the people to complete a community centre whose construction has been halted due to lack of funds.

He called on the government to improve television transmission in the area to enable them to view programmes from Ghana instead of Cote d’Ivoire.
