The Madina District Court has adjourned the murder case of investigative journalist Ahmed Suale, with the prosecution still awaiting advice from the Attorney-General. Chief Inspector Nana Afua Bamfoa Bamfoa told the court on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, that the docket had been forwarded but no feedback had been received.
Daniel Owusu Koranteng, an investigative journalist charged with abetment of crime and murder, has pleaded not guilty and remains on bail of GHC50,000. The prosecution alleges that Koranteng led two unidentified accomplices to Suale’s home, where the journalist was tragically shot and killed by unknown assailants in 2019.
Presiding Judge Susan Nyarkotey has adjourned the case to August 2, urging the prosecution to secure the Attorney-General’s report and file the Bill of Indictment before the next hearing. The delay prolongs the search for justice in the high profile murder case that has drawn international attention to press freedom and safety in Ghana.
