Ahenebronoso residents cautioned against unsanitary practices

Ahenebronoso (B/A), Sept. 5 GNA- Mr. Unas Owusu, assemblyman for the Ahenbronoso Electoral Area, in the Techiman Municipality, cautioned the people against indiscriminate defecation and dumping of refuse, particularly in drainages in the area.

He said the practice could cause a serious epidemic since the drainages were tributaries of the Atweredaa stream and the Tano River, which served as source of water for the people. Mr. Owusu, who is also the Brong Ahafo Regional President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, expressed these sentiments at the handing over ceremony of the old Unit Committee members of the Electoral Area to the new members at Ahenebronoso.

He noted that inadequate toilets and refuse dumping sites posed a serious threat to the health of the people. Mr. Owusu commended the previous committee members for their dedication to duty and pledged to unite the people for the development of the area.

Mr. Davis Boamah-Asumadu, an out-going assemblyman for the area, urged the incoming committee members to contact the outgoing ones for vital information that could help them formulate good programmes towards the development of the area.
