Ahantaman Chieftaincy and Welfare Association inaugurated at Busua

Busua (W/R), Feb 05, GNA – Nana Kobina Nketiah VI, the Omanhene of Essikadu Traditional Area, has appealed to chiefs to concentrate on the development of their areas.

The chief, who was inaugurating the Ahantaman Chieftaincy and Welfare Association at Busua near Takoradi on Saturday, said chieftaincy and land litigations were holding back the development of some areas. Nana Nketiah said litigations in the Ahanta Traditional Area were affecting the progress of the area and advised chiefs in the area to put a stop to litigations.

Nana Baidoo Bonsoe, Omanhene of Ahanta Traditional Area, said chiefs have a role to play in the investment drive of the Ahanta West District because they are custodians of the land and it is through them land could be acquired.

Nana Nedede Wusu II, Chairman of the Association and Chief of Boffin, said the aims of the association included peaceful resolution of chieftaincy and land litigations, raising funds to support second cycle schools and to offer scholarships to brilliant but needy students.
