Ahafo-Ano South assembly to spend 5.8 billion cedis

Mankranso (Ash), Aug 22, GNA – The Ahafo-Ano South District Assembly will spend about 5.8 billion cedis out of its share of the common fund for programmes this year.

This was contained in a supplementary budget presented to the assembly at its emergency meeting at Mankranso. The meeting coincided with the swearing-in of Mr Nicholas Opoku-Afriyie, the new Presiding Member by Mr Frank Owusu-Afriyie, a Circuit Court Judge.

Areas to be tackled by the assembly will include human resource development, basic services, production and gainful employment, good governance and programmes for the vulnerable and excluded. Mr Opoku-Afriyie commended the assembly members for their support and called on them to unite to enable them develop the district to move it forward.
