Ahafo-Ano North to pay GH¢1,000 ex-gratia for assembly members

Tepa (Ash), Dec. 29, GNA – The Ahafo-Ano North District Assembly, has agreed to pay GH¢1,000 ex-gratia to each member of the assembly after serving a four-year term. The decision was taken at an ordinary meeting of the assembly held at Tepa on Thursday.

Mr David Addai Amankwah, the District Chief Executive, expressed their determination to intensify revenue mobilization and public education campaign to increase performance.

He said, to ensure efficiency and seal all leakages, training workshops would be organised for revenue collectors. He noted that it was through increased revenue that the assembly would be able to support the development programmes of the communities.

Mr Amankwah said during his recent tour of the area, he was inundated with demands such as provision of potable water, school classrooms, electricity, health facilities and the rehabilitation of roads adding these could be met only when there were sufficient funds. He announced the re-introduction of scholarship for brilliant but needy pupils and students in the district. Mr Amankwah said the assembly would work hard to speed up the development of the people and called for unity at all times.
