Ahafo-Ano North holds public hearing on development plan

Tepa (Ash), June 7, GNA – The Ahafo-Ano North District Assembly has held a day’s public forum at Tepa to solicit views of the people and factor them into the district’s Medium Term Development Plan (MTDP). In attendance were chiefs, assembly members, heads of department and other civil society organizations.

The District Chief Executive, Mr David Addae Amankwah, said involving the people would help to encourage them to develop a sense of ownership of the plan and promote smooth implementation.

The MTDP would focus on improvement and sustainable macro-economic stability, expanded development of production infrastructure, accelerated agriculture modernization and agro-based industrial development. It would also concentrate on developing human resource development, poverty reduction, address income inequalities and ensure transparent and accountable governance.

Mr Ted Oppong, District Development Planning Officer, said the economy of the district, structure of the local economy, household income and expenditure, major economic activities, energy services, banking, communication and income levels would form the basis. These indicators would also be used to measure the current level of development of the district. 7 June 10
