Tepa (Ash), Jan 24, GNA- The Ahafo-Ano North District Co-operative Food Farmers Marketing Union is to form credit union to supplement financial assistance the district assembly gives to them. Mr Bright Kofi Asante, president of the union, who disclosed this at their annual general meeting held at Tepa, said the union would help the members to have financial assistance at very low interest rate. The meeting was attended by farmers from all the 50 societies in the district who are engaged in production and marketing various types of food and vegetable crops.
He thanked the government for making funds available for poverty alleviation in the district.
Mr Osei Mensah, the District Co-operative Officer, praised the various societies for their contributions to food security in the country.
