Ahafo-Ano North DMHIS to take off in June

Tepa (Ash), April 20, GNA-The Ahafo-Ano North District Chief Executive, Mr Akwasi Adu-Poku on Tuesday announced that District Mutual Health Insurance Scheme (DMHIS) would start operating by June this year. He said as at February this year, the Management team of the scheme had collected 208 million cedis as premium and registration fee from 9,000 people who would be issued with identity cards.

Mr Adu-Poku who announced these during the first general meeting of the assembly at Tepa said out of the 9,000 people, 2,361 of them had paid cash premium of 72,000 cedis each and the rest were Social Security and National Insurance Trust contributors, dependants and exemptions. Mr Adu-Poku said a permanent building for the DMHIS, which the assembly was constructing would be completed soon and the government had provided two computers and accessories to the scheme. He called on the assembly members, traditional rulers and other stakeholders to support the DMHIS to ensure its success and sustainability.
