Agyepong, Crabbe must go to court – Arthur K

A leading member of the New Patriotic party Dr. Arthur Kobina Kennedy has urged the suspended second Vice Chairman of the party Sammy Crabbe and General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong to challenge their suspension in court.

The two executives were on Thursday handed an indefinite suspension by the National Executive Committee of the party following petitions of misconduct against them by some members of the elephant family.

Speaking to Morning Starr host, Arthur Kennedy described the suspension as illegal and urged the affected executives to seek redress in court.

“I think they should go to court,” Dr. Kennedy told host Nii Arday Clegg Friday.

According to Mr. Kennedy, the decision only weakens the party and renders it ineffective to contest its main opponent, the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2016 general elections.

He added that the actions of the NPP in the last year clearly indicate that the party is not ready for power and to rescue Ghanaians from the NDC.

Meanwhile, Mr. Crabbe has stated that there is no need for him to go to court because he does not regard his suspension as legal and would continue to serve in his capacity as second vice chairman of the party.

“I am not going to accept an illegality, I won’t accept that, I will continue to do my job, the decision is illegal and I shall treat it with the contempt that it deserves.

“I will not kowtow to the extremists. This is a coup d’etat and such coup d’etats are things of the past,” he stated.
