Agona West NDC to elect parliamentary candidate on Saturday

Agona Swedru (C/R), Oct. 25, GNA – All is set for the Agona West Constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to go the polls on Saturday October 27 to elect a parliamentary candidate to contest the 2008 election. Mr Musah Donkoh, Constituency Chairman disclosed this on Wednesday to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview at Agona Swedru. He said a total of 253 delegates from 108 polling stations in the constituency would be expected to cast their votes. According to him, the battle would be between Mr Kweku Tetteh, Lecturer at the Faculty of Ghanaian Language at the University of Education, Winneba and Mr Ibrahim Zubero, Lecturer at the Accra Polytechnic. He said the Regional Executives of the party would conduct the election that would be supervised by officials of the Electoral Commission.

Mr Donkoh told GNA that the executives and supporters of the party would support any of the contestants who would be elected. He noted that a committee set up by constituency executives of the party had put in place effective structures that would assist the NDC to win more supporters, especially floating voters. 25 Oct
