Agona Swedru, Feb 21, GNA – The Agona West Constituency Organizer of National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Frank Manu Boampng on Wednesday announced his defection to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The former NDC constituency organizer did not state any reason for his action but said the NPP government was doing well to resuscitate the shattered economy it inherited from the NDC.

Mr Boampng who said he had now seen the light and urged other people who were still in darkness to join the NPP train of development, was speaking at a ceremony to welcome him into the party at Agona Swedru on Thursday.

Mr Samuel Obodai, Member of Parliament (MP) for Agona West, commended Mr Boampng for appreciating the good work of NPP government. The MP requested Mr Boampng to educate the people on government’s programme aimed at promoting the living standard of Ghanaians. Mr Obodai called on Mr Boampong to be loyal to the party and urged him to help the NPP to win the year’s general election.

The MP asked the NPP members in the area to support Mr Boampong to enable him to contribute to the development of the party adding that the doors of the NPP were widely opened for all Ghanaians.
