Agona Nyakrom Police intensify patrols

Agona Nsaba (C/R), Dec 30, GNA – The Nyakrom District Command of the Police Service has intensified patrols especially on the highways to ensure a peaceful yuletide and new-year celebrations.

The intensified day and night patrols are also to ensure that criminals and other people did not take advantage of the season to carry out their activities, Superintendent (Supt) H H Afful, District Commander, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Agona Nsaba.

He said that even though the Police had not received any serious criminal case during the period, they had adopted strategies especially against armed robbery during the season.

Supt Afful noted that criminals had shifted their activities to the districts due to the pressure on them at the national and regional levels but assured the people of Nyakrom, Nsaba, Duakwa and surrounding areas of their security.

He asked the people to report “suspicious characters” to the Police and appealed to the chiefs, Assembly and Unit Committee Members and opinion leaders to assist the Service to combat crime in the area. The District Commander called on the Watch-Dog Committees in the area to intensify their activities to assist the Police since they could not do the work alone.
