Agona East NDC executive grateful to President Mills

Mankrong-Junction,(C/R), April 8, GNA – The executive of the Agona East Constituency branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC)has expressed gratitude to President Atta Mills for nominating Mr John O. Arkoh as the District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area. It said the nomination of Mr Arkoh, who joined the party many years ago, would facilitate the growth of the party in the constituency. Mr Abedenago Aful, Deputy Constituency Secretary said the appointment of Mr Arkoh had come at a good time as it would help the re-organization of the party to win the parliamentary seat in 2012. He praised President Mills for the selection and promised that the executive and members of the party would rally solidly behind him to ensure a successful administration.

Mr Aful, who is also an Assemblyman for Asarekwaa Electoral Area, noted that if confirmed by the assembly, Mr Arkoh could manage the affairs of the district to ensure its development. Ms Adisa Adams, Constituency Women’s Organizer called on women in the district to support Mr Arkoh and that if confirmed he could solicit financial assistance from both the government and donor agencies to improve their businesses.

She appealed to women in the constituency not to engage in fomenting troubles in the party but must promote its good image. Mr Francis Baidu, Constituency Youth Organizer of NDC urged the youth in the party who were against the nomination of Mr Arkoh to rather support him for the development of the party. He called on other contestants who did not get the nod to rally behind Mr Arkoh for peace and tranquillity to prevail in both the NDC and the district.
