Agona East elects Sawyer as NDC parliamentary candidate

Agona Swedru (C/R), Nov. 28, GNA – The Minister for Trade and Industries, Ms Hannah Tetteh, has said the National Democratic Congress (NDC) had a choice to either move forward or go backwards.

She said the choice depened on how the members would conduct themselves in the run-up to the 2012 elections and the candidates they would elect to represent the party in the constituencies.

The Minister said this in a pre-election speech at the party’s parliamentary primaries for Agona East constituency at the National Vocational Training Institute at Agona Swedru on Saturday.

Mrs Queenstar Pokuaa Sawyer, a 43-year-old Real Estate Developer, polled 146 votes to beat Mr Kwesi Ahwoi, Minister of Food and Agriculture who polled 143 votes. Mr Eric Turkson polled 82 whilst Mr George Yankah got one vote.
