Agona Assembly to spend 1.2 billion cedis on projects

Nyakrom (C/R), July 18, GNA – The Agona District Assembly has approved GH(120,000 (1.2 billion cedis) for some 40 development projects to be undertaken this year in the district.

The projects, which will be financed with district assembly common fund and European Union and Danish Fund, include the District Chief Executive’s residence, a new administrative block for the assembly as well as health and education facilities.

Mr Ben Mensah, the District Chief Executive, disclosed this when he and members of the Works Sub-committee of the Assembly inspected projects being undertaken by the assembly. He said last year the assembly spent a total of GH(160,000 (1.6 billion cedis) to complete 37 projects in the areas of health, education, sanitation, and markets.

Among projects inspected were a health facility at Agona Nyamendam, a toilet at Agona Duakwa, a block of six classrooms at Nyakrom, a toilet and three classrooms for Methodist and Roman Catholic primary schools at Agona Nsaba.
