Agogo Omanhene marks 30th anniversary

Accra, April 5, GNA – Nana Akuoko Sarpong, Omanhene of Agogo Traditional Area, would mark the 30th anniversary of his enstoolment under the theme “30 years of Peace and Sustained Development”. A statement to the Ghana News Agency on Wednesday said the celebration, under the distinguished patronage of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, would begin on April 10, a day to be observed as Environment Day. April 11 and April 12 would be observed as remembrance and purification of the Traditional area and a procession to the Akogya Osiakwan Shrine, respectively.

The Agogo Information Technology Centre would be inaugurated on April 13 as part of the celebration.

It would be climaxed with a grand durbar of Chiefs and people of Agogo and a fund raising ceremony to support the Presbyterian University Medical School on April 15 2006 There would be an inter-denominational church service to be followed by a charity football match to round off the celebration on the April 16. To join in the celebration would be Mr Albert Kan-Dapaah, Minister of Communications, Vice President Aliu Mahama and President John Agyekum Kufuor, who would be the guest of honour at the grand durbar.
