AGOA Preparatory meeting in DC

The Embassy of Ghana in Washington D.C hosted an African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA), preparatory meeting at the chancery for African Ambassadors to discuss outstanding issues in the strategic framework for accelerating the implementation adopted at it’s 5th forum as well as to deliberate on programs outlined for the impending forum.

The meeting was a precursor to the AGOA forum slated for July 16th to 19th 2007 in Accra, Ghana.

AGOA was signed into law on May 18, 2000 as Title 1 of The Trade and Development Act of 2000. The Act offers tangible incentives for African countries to continue their efforts to open their economies and build free markets.
