Accra, Dec. 19, GNA – Mrs Gifty Afenyi-Dadzie, Prayer Director of Aglow International Fellowship Ghana, on Saturday urged women to resist the temptation of focusing on their interests alone and think about the wellbeing of the nation as well.
She said women played a key role in the development of religious organizations and the nation and urged them to unite and pray to God to intervene in the nation’s affairs.
Mrs Afenyi-Dadzie, who was speaking at a National Thanksgiving Service organized by the Aglow Ministry, said despite the challenges women faced, they should be committed to the preaching of the gospel and emulate Jesus Christ. She called on the women to give thanks to God for what He had been doing for mankind and also let their beliefs reflect in their daily lives to reduce the upsurge of social vices in the country. Mrs Dorothy Danso, National President of Aglow, thanked the women for their intercessory prayers for the country and all those who supported the programme to make it a success.
She said the 10 regions of the country had joined hearts and voices to give honor and glory to the almighty God for His blessings for individuals and the nation at large.
Mrs Danso urged the women to pray for peace and economic stability for the nation, the Cabinet and Parliament and for rain and good harvest. She urged them to also pray against accidents, armed robbery and other social vices.
Madam Alice Botwe, a Director at the |Ministry of Women and Children’s Affairs (MOWAC), who read a speech on behalf of the Minister, expressed the Ministry’s thankfulness to God for His special protection. She said the Ministry was grateful to Aglow for the good work it was doing. Madam Danso said the Aglow Ministry had brought together women from across the country with various backgrounds and status for a good cause of interceding with prayers. She said MOWAC would always support Aglow in its activities to move the country forward. 19 Dec. 09
