AGI members in Western and Central regions attend procurement seminar.

Takoradi, Nov. 7, GNA – Mr Philip Kwesi Nkrumah, the Shama Ahanta East Metropolitan Chief Executive, has said the new procurement law would help to streamline the activities of local entrepreneurs and related institutions to ensure efficiency in the procurement sector. He urged members of the Association of Ghana Industries to be abreast with all provisions under the law to make their operations more beneficial and cost effective.

Mr. Nkrumah said this when he opened a day’s seminar on the new procurement law for 50 members of the Association of Ghana industries (AGI) from the Western and Central regions in Takoradi. It was organised by the AGI with support from the Business Sector Advocacy Challenge (BUSAC).

Similar Seminar had already been organised for AGI members in Accra and Kumasi and the next one would be organised for members at Tema. Mr. Nkrumah said the procurement law would ensure efficiency and judicious use of public funds and told the participants that they would be found wanting if remained ignorant of the provisions under the law. In an address read for him, Mr Cletus Kosiba, AGI acting Executive Director, said the seminar would enable participants to identify the opportunities that would be derived under the law. 07 Nov 06
