Aggrieved NDC Foot Soldiers In Bawku East Zone Seek Better Treatment

A group of Foot soldiers of the Governing National Democratic Congress, NDC, at the Bawku East Zone in the Upper East Region has called on the Constituency, Regional and National Executives of the party to honor promises made them by the party in 2016. It is unclear what promises were made, but the foot soldiers say, fulfilling the campaign promises will re-energize foot soldiers for a committed campaign come 2016 general election.

Pouring out their grievances at a press statement signed by the spokesperson of the group, Enoch Azimbe Agosim, said the expectations of the foot soldiers have not been met after the 2012 Victory.

“The Executives of the Local and Regional hierarchy of the party have in most cases sidelined victorious foot soldiers for their perceived loyalists as and when executive membership changes. In sidelining old foot soldiers, they are not only side-stepping individuals, but are sidelining 100 to 200 voting individuals who might have supported and voted for the NDC because of the role of some foot soldiers.”

The group advised the leadership of the party not to under rate to effect a mass defection or decision to boycott the 2016 campaign could have on the NDC fortunes in the Bawku East Zone of the Upper East region.

The group suggested that the National Democratic Congress adopt the reports of a survey conducted on the expectation and contribution of foot soldiers in the Bawku East Zone to guide the party in addressing the promises made to the foot soldiers in the Upper East region and for other disaffection party foot soldiers the country as whole.
