In a powerful demonstration of unity and compassion, 11 agencies under the Ministry of the Interior, alongside the Minister and Deputy Minister, have contributed GH¢1 million to the Ghana Medical Trust Fund, popularly known as Mahama Cares.
The donation was presented at a ceremony held at the Jubilee House in Accra, led by the Minister of the Interior, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak. Explaining the gesture, he stated, “Sickness knows no boundaries and can affect anyone. This contribution is a reflection of our shared humanity and responsibility to one another.”
President John Dramani Mahama expressed profound gratitude to the Ministry and its agencies for their support. He described Mahama Cares as an initiative rooted in compassion, equity, and the collective commitment to improving healthcare for all Ghanaians.
The President further revealed that Cabinet has approved additional measures to bolster the fund’s impact, highlighting its importance in addressing critical medical needs nationwide.
The Mahama Cares initiative, established to provide financial aid for medical care, continues to receive widespread acclaim for its efforts to ensure equitable healthcare access for all citizens.
