Agbogbomefia to lead chiefs to ancestral home

Ho, Aug. 11, GNA – The Agbogbomefia, Togbe Afede XIV, is to lead the chiefs of Asogli State on a three-day pilgrimage to their ancestral home at Notsie in Togo.

A statement signed by Mr John Kukah, Secretary to the Asogli State Council said the pilgrimage scheduled from September 3 to September 5 this year is part of the Annual Yam Festival celebrations of the Asogli State.

It is also to strengthen the existing bond of friendship between the chiefs and people of Asogli and Nortsie.

It said the chiefs and people of Notsie under the leadership of Togbui Agorkorli IV would reciprocate the visit with their presence at celebration of the Asogli Yam Festival.

The statement said there would be a temporary ban on burials and funerals in the Asogli State from September 6 to 27 and called on the public to cooperate in making this year’s festival a memorable one.
