AGBL donates assorted drugs to Bibiani hospital

The Management of the Ashanti Goldfields Bibiani Limited (AGBL) has donated a quantity of assorted drugs valued at about 20 million cedis to the Bibiani Government Hospital.

They included anti-biotic, syrups, needles and syringes and painkiller tablets.

Mr John Owusu, Group Manager, Investor and Community Relations of the Ashanti Goldfields Company (AGC), who made the donation on behalf of AGBL said the items were part of the company’s social responsibility to the communities it operates.

He gave the assurance that the company will continue to offer periodic assistance to the hospital to ensure efficient and effective health delivery in the district.

He hoped the hospital authorities would take good care of the drugs and use for the intended purpose.

Dr Paul Kwao Ntodi, the Hospital Superintendent, thanked the company for its gesture and appealed to other firms in the area to emulate the example.

Meanwhile, a sod-cutting ceremony has been performed for the construction of a 90 million-cedi three-classroom block for the Bibiani Zongo kindergarten.

It is being constructed by the AGBL in response to an appeal by the Zongo community.
