AGASS PTA undertakes development projects

Agona (Ash), Jan. 21, GNA – The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of the Agona SDA Senior High School in the Afigya Sekyere District has constructed a two-unit block with six classrooms in each for the school at a cost of over 100,000 Ghana cedis. It has also bought two vehicles at a total cost of 20,000 Ghana cedis for the school.

Mr Ernest Kofi Gyimah, Headmaster of the school, said in addition the association was supporting the completion of a two-storey classroom block, initiated by the old students association. Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in an interview at Agona, Mr Gyimah said the school was establishing an Air Force Cadet Corps to promote discipline and patriotism among the students and that the idea was initiated by Colonel Serebour Ababio, an old boy of the school. The Headmaster said the 50 cadet corps, who was being trained by personnel from the Ghana Air Force, would be inaugurated on January 27. Mr Gyimah said the current situation where the students were moving to and from the old and new sites to attend classes was hampering effective academic work and stressed the need for all stakeholders to continue their support to the school to ensure the early completion of all ongoing projects at the new site to facilitate smooth academic work. 21 Jan 08
