AGASS expands infrastructure

Authorities of the Seventh Day Adventist Senior High School (AGASS) in Agona in the Sekyere South District have completed a number of structures to ease congestion and enhance academic work in the school.

The facilities, funded by the Parent/Teacher Association (PTA) and internally generated funds, have significantly expanded infrastructure at the school’s new site and created space for increased enrollment.

They include a dining hall and kitchen, boys’ and girls’ dormitories, each with the capacity to accommodate 500 students, and a 12-unit two-storey classroom block.

Mr. Moses Kwaku Addai, the Headmaster, told the Ghana News Agency at Agona that construction works on an assembly hall, a three-unit classroom block, a football field and fence wall are also ongoing.

Mr. Addai said the projects, which started about two years ago, aims at creating a more academic friendly environment. The school has a population of 2,800 students.

It will be celebrating its golden jubilee anniversary next year and he appealed to the old students to actively participate in the event.

They should organize themselves to assist in the infrastructural development of the school.

Mr. Addai complained about the encroachment on the school’s lands and said immediate steps needed to be taken to protect the lands.
