African universities to hold meeting in Ghana

Cape Coast, Jan 12, GNA- The Association of African Universities (AAU), in collaboration with the Ford Foundation International Fellowship Programme (IFP) in West Africa, will hold a West Africa Cohort Building Meeting on Monday, January 17, at Elmina.

The five-day meeting, which is on the theme: “Leadership In a Globalise World”, is aimed at providing a platform for the development of “an enduring IFP network” in the sub-region.

A statement issued by Professor Paschal MIHYO, Director of Research and Programmes, of the AAU, said the meeting, will provide fellows pursuing graduate studies to have a common sense of identity, before travelling outside the shores of West Africa.

Project officers and assistants of the individual IFP African sites, in Ghana Senegal and Nigeria would attend the meeting.

They would discuss topical issues like the “New Economic Partnership for Africa’s Development”, “Global and Regional Overview of IFP”.

There would also be a seminar, on ” Social Justice and Advocacy”.
