African Students Urge Call For Dialogue Not War

Accra (GAR), July 11, – The All Africa Students’ Union (AASU) has urged the Kenyan government to use dialogue with the opposition leaders to solve political crisis instead of resorting to the us A statement signed in Accra by Mr Seth Ofori-Ohene , deputy Secretary-General in charge of the Education and Students’ Rights Department, said a change in attitude by President arap Moi’s governm The statement which vehemently condemned the killing of civilians including university students by the po lice, said “(President) Moi’s government must repeal laws which jeopardise freedom of as It called on the Kenyan government to re-open the universities to prevent students from undergoing psychological and mental torture. “The ruthless and unrestrained brutalities visited on the demonstrators are uncalled for and they undermine the fundamental human rights of the people of Kenya”, the statement said.
