African Leaders start arriving for WSIS

Accra, Feb. GNA – President Paul Kagame of Rwanda arrived in Accra on Tuesday afternoon to participate in the World Summit on Information Society (WSIS), which opens on Wednesday February 2 to Thursday February 4.

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, Acting Foreign Minister, met him on arrival.

The summit is under the theme: “Access: Africa’s Key to an Inclusive Information Society.”

Already in the country are the Executive Secretary of UN Economic Community of Africa, Dr Kwame Amoako and Assistant Director General of UNESCO, Abdul Waheed Khan.

Others in the country include Ministers of Communication from Mali, Chad, The Gambia, Swaziland, Tunisia, Zambia, Malawi, Burkina Faso, Congo, South Africa, Senegal and Guinea. Over 1,000 participants are scheduled to attend the conference.
