African display flops at Canada festival

A display of African culture at the Klondike Days festival in Edmonton, Canada is an embarrassment, critics claim, because there aren’t enough Africans to take part in the exhibits.

Margaret Mwangi of Indaba Canada Expos, the co-ordinator of the exhibit, said only five of the 35-member group from Ghana were able to obtain visas. Not one of the approximately 100 African dancers who were supposed to attend the festival were able to get visas.
