African countries urged to emulate Ghana

African countries should emulate Ghana’s democracy to ensure peace and stability, the Right Reverend Dr Godfred Zormelo, Senior Bishop’s Deputy of the AME Zion Church, said at Agona Odoben in the Ceantral Region of Ghana on Saturday.

Addressing the closing ceremony of a four-day review conference of the Women’s Union of the Church attended by more than 500 members, he expressed concern about the situation of women and children in Africa.

Rt. Rev Zormelo called on religious leaders in strife torn countries to work and pray for peace.

A communiqu? issued at the end of the conference called on traditional councils, churches and district assemblies to intensify their AIDS awareness campaign to check the spread of the disease.
