Afram Plains South constituency vice chairman, organizer suspended

The Eastern Regional Secretariate of the ruling party National Democratic Congress (NDC) has reportedly suspended Theodore Dor and Tsatsu John, vice chairman and organizer of the Afram Plains South constituency respectively, for insubordination.

The two executives were suspended during an executive committee meeting on Tuesday June 9, 2015 after they had gone ahead to lead a demonstration to protest the ineptitude of the head of the party’s Regional Secretariate, Kevor Mark-Oliver.

According to John Tsatsu, he and other supporters believe that the allocation for the development of the district is not disbursed as it should be: “Even some executives posted here are facing accommodation and other problems and this may jeopardize the retention of power in the constituency,” he lamented.

They resolved to demonstrate to communicate their concerns on Tuesday June 9, 2015, only for the secretariat to schedule a committee meeting on the same day though they were in the know of the protest. However, they decided to carry out the demonstrations as planned, leading to their suspension.

The two executives indicated that until they are served their suspension letters, they consider the pronouncement void.

It should be noted that at the time of filing this report, the executives had not been served their suspension letters.
