Afoko, Agyapong suspicions destroying NPP – Pratt

Ace journalist and social commentator Kwesi Pratt Junior has observed that the main opposition New Patriotic Party is inflicting harm on itself with unhealthy suspicions of its National Chairman Paul Afoko and General Secretary Kwabena Agyapong.

According to him, some key figures of the party are deliberately inciting the base of the Dankwa-Busia-Bombo tradition against the two national executives.

The comments come on the back of a leaked tape in which the northern regional chairman of the NPP Daniel Bugri Naabu is head doubting the loyalty of the National Chairman and the general secretary.

He has, however, denied ever making such comments.

But commenting on the issue on Radio Gold Saturday, the managing editor of the Insight newspaper said the NPP is stabbing itself in the back.

“…They started these things long ago and now are they saying that Paul Afoko and Kwabena Agyapong cannot afford to buy anything for themselves unless the NDC gives it to them?

“What kind of thinking is this? Both Agyepong and Afoko were self-made businessmen with accomplishments before they were elected into office,” Pratt fumed.

He continued: “How can they be doing this to the national chairman of the party who in 2008 donated so much to the party’s campaign?”
