AfNOG supports Stadium disaster victims

Delegates at the ongoing African Network Operators Group (AfNOG) in Accra have donated an amount of 5 million cedis to the 37 Hospital Stadium disaster Fund. The donation, made through Network Computer Systems (NCS), the host of the meeting, is in support of the victims of last Wednesday’s Accra Sports Stadium disaster.

AfNOG delegates drawn from the sub-region and beyond and NCS expressed their deep and profound condolences to the families and friends of the victims in particular and the people of Ghana in general.

Receiving the cheque presented by Mr. Patrick Kpikpi, Public Relations Officer of Network Computer Systems, Lt. Col Dr. Kwarshie on behalf of the Director Medical Services 37 Hospital, thanked AFNOG and Network Computer Systems for their quick response to the pathetic incident and promised to ensure that all monies will go strictly into the Fund.

Network Computer Systems has also offered a website that could be used to channel money through money transfer institutions to the aid of the victims.

Over 120 people lost their lives and hundreds more injured in the stampede during the match between the two most glamorous clubs in the country.
