Afenyo-Markin outlines his vision for people of Effutu

The Effutu Constituency Parliamentary candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Alexander Kwamina Afenyo-Markin, has called on people to vote for him to use his rich expertise to facilitate the development of the area.

He said as a businessman when voted as the Member of Parliament, he will liaise with other businessmen, non-governmental organizations and corporate bodies to fund most of the developmental projects in the constituency in addition to using his share of the Common Fund.

Mr. Afenyo-Markin said this at Winneba when he addressed a large crowed of people to outline his vision and direction.

Among personalities at the programme were traditional rulers, the clergy, Assembly members, opinion leaders of the town and NPP supporters.

He mentioned tourism development as one of his key priority projects, adding that a new beach resort would be created at Walaba while the Aboakyer and the Annual Fancy Dress festivals would be improved to attract international participation. On health, Mr. Afenyo-Markin said he will establish a Health Endowment Fund to support the aged and cater for drugs not covered by the National Health Insurance scheme for people in the area.

On education, he said when voted as MP for the area, he will help to construct three libraries at Wonsom, Ponkokyir and Abasraba. he would also collaborate with the authorities of University of Education, Winneba to promote education in the constituency.

The aspirant therefore appealed to the people of Winneba to change their voting pattern this time to see the differences in the performance of their various Members of Parliament.

According to Mr. Afenyo-Markin, the NPP was the only party that had the welfare of the people at heart and in this regard appealed to Ghanaians to return the party to power to continue with the good works it started.

He advised against politics of insults, personal attacks and victimization because they did not promote the country’s democratic dispensation.
