AESDA envisages 6.5 billion cedis from Common Fund

Winneba, April 12, GNA – The Awutu-Effutu-Senya District Assembly is to get 6.5 billion cedis from the District Assembly Common Fund this year.

It also hopes to secure 1.5 billion cedis from internally generated revenue as against 1.1 billion cedis projected in the previous year, constituting 73.3 per cent increase.

Mr Joseph Ata-Baah, District Budget Analyst throwing light on the 2005 budget approved at Winneba last Friday said the Assembly’s recurrent expenditure for the year would be around 1.2 billion cedis. He called on the Assembly Members to ensure effective collaboration with revenue collectors to generate more funds for the Assembly. The District Budget Analyst announced plans to give revenue officers and collectors special orientation to make them more efficient. He urged tax and ratepayers, to honour their obligations promptly to enable the Assembly to construct a 100 million-cedi Aqua privy toilet in the district.
