Advance Global College of School of Health Sciences has held its first graduation at the GNAT Hall in Accra to churn out 91 students equipped to deliver quality health practice to the country.
Advance Global College accredited by the Allied Health Professions Council of the Ministry of Health was instituted to train medical laboratory assistants by the NVTI and the City and Guilds of London, to train health careers acquire certificate and IVQ diploma.
According to the Principal of the College Ahmed Zaruk Nuhu, Advance Global College strives to be the leading centre for professional, technical and vocational education in Africa and also create a favorable and conducive learning environment and have competent, committed and dedicated lecturers to instill knowledge to the students.
Speaking at the ceremony dubbed ”Discipline: a prerequisite to quality health care delivery” the Director of Nursing Services Dr. George Kumi Kyeremeh reiterated government’s readiness to partner with private investors in providing quality Health Care to the people of Ghana.
However, he noted that proper accreditation and due process must be strictly adhered to before commencing any such health training or service provision facilities in the country.
He admonished institutions and individuals with the desire to establish any Health training institutions to first get the programme and institutional accreditation from the appropriate agencies of the Ministry of Health, depending on the cadre of health professionals one may want to train.
He added that, prospective candidates also have the duty to authenticate the accreditation status of Health institutions where one wants to study before making any financial commitments to avoid future disappointments.
He therefore urged grandaunts to let go the norm of “business as usual” attitude towards their work and treat every human being with dignity irrespective of socio-economic status or any other barrier and to respect the contributions of other members of the health team and be always prepared to learn.
The College now has a branch in tamale to give the people of the three northern regions the opportunity to also benefit from their programmes without necessarily coming to Accra and also upgraded their facilities, resources and accreditations to enable run tertiary programmes.
