Sikaa, (B/A) Nov. 24, GNA – The Adventist Development Relief Agency (ADRA) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) have jointly undertaken development projects at Sikaa in the Nkoranza District of the Brong-Ahafo Region to improve the standard of living of the people.

The two organisations provided the community with two hand dug wells and 20 household toilets to promote sanitation. They also supplied fertilizer and Wellington boots and other agriculture inputs to farmers to boost food production.

Mr Kwaku Baffoe-Adamu, Assemblyman of the area, who told the Ghana News Agency at Sikaa on Thursday about the projects, said, since ADRA adopted the community about three years ago, there had been an improvement in the lives of the people.

He commended ADRA and USAID for pooling resources to train personnel to educate the people of Sikaa on health management and sound environmental practices to ensure good health to prevent them from contracting communicable diseases. Mr Baffoe-Adamu also praised ADRA for assisting the people to plant 500 seedlings of shady trees to protect the environment and to serve as wind breaks.
