Ho, July 14, GNA- The Chartered Institute of Administration and Management Consultants (CIAMC) of Ghana have urged the public and Civil Servants and students in the Volta Region to upgrade their skills to enable them to become professional administrators.
Mr Samuel Mawusi Asafo, Executive Secretary of CIAMC, made the call at a news conference at Ho on Tuesday to announce the Institute’s decision to extend its training programmes to the region by August this year. He said the demand for professionally trained administrators was important to the economy and asked people already on the job and those who aspire to become administrators to be up and coming.
Mr Asafo said the institute has designed its study programmes to take candidates from the beginning through intermediate to professional level, which could be accomplished, in three-and-half years if the candidates followed the course patterns.
He said there was the need to extend the programmes that were being run in Accra, Kumasi, Takoradi, Tamale and Sunyani to the Volta Region. Mr Asafo said the country urgently required a breed of “professionally trained strategic administrators who will manage, improve and propel the economies of Ghana and Africa far beyond the new millennium thus making them to become lead players in the global village”.
