Adiembra Irrigation Projec ready in May

Adiembra-Ashanti, March 27, GNA- Civil works on Adiembra Irrigation Project under the small farms irrigation project is expected to be complete in May this year. The project being executed at GH¢ 5,606,898,550 would benefit vegetable and other food crop farmers in Adiembra and its surrounding communities in the Atwima-Mponua District of Ashanti. Mr Roland Sintim, Senior Engineer of Ghana Irrigation Development Authority, announced this when Mr Wilberforce Owusu Ansah, Atwima Mponua District Chief Executive toured the project site. He said the project would provide other farming inputs to farmers as well as job opportunities for people in the area, increase food production and incomes of farmers to improve on their living standards. Mr Owusu Ansah, advised farmers who would benefit from loans under the project to re-pay them on time to enable others benefit. He appealed to members of Adiembra Irrigation Farmers Association to register genuine farmers to benefit from the project to increase food production in the district.
