Adevukope (V/R), Dec 15, GNA – A block of three classrooms with an office and a detached four-seat place of convenience constructed at a cost of 296.5 million cedis from HIPC funds by the Ketu District Assembly was inaugurated on Wednesday at Adevukope. The facility has brought to an end the housing of the school in makeshift shelters or on the benevolence of neighbouring communities for the past two decades.
Mr Kofi Dzamesi, the Volta Regional Minister, said the government was improving all sectors of the economy to facilitate the realization of individual aspirations and goals and called for support for the government. He said the appeal for a second cycle school and extension of potable water to the Wheta Traditional Area would be considered.
Mr Justice Cudjoe, the Ketu District Chief Executive, said the assembly was sponsoring 148 teacher trainees and some nursing students under its Educational Support Programme. Togbe Sokpor III, Paramount chief of Wheta, commended the minister for delivering on a promise to make sure Adevukope got a school block.
