The Chief of Staff, Mr. Henry Martey Newman has directed that all enquiries concerning arrangements for the State Funeral of His Excellency Professor John Evans Atta Mills should be addressed to the office of the Director of State Protocol at the State House in Accra.
A statement signed by Mr. Totobi Quakye, Chairman of the Funeral Planning Committee for the chief of staff said, “Individual and Organisations both local and International are hereby informed that Wednesday 1st August 2012 is the deadline for submission of tributes in memory of our late President John Evans Atta Mills.
It said: “Tributes to be considered for the publications in the official funeral brochure should reach the planning committee, Office of Director of State Protocol by close of work on Wednesday 1st August 2012.”
The statement said: “It is also announced for the information of the general public that Tuesday July 31st 2012 marks a week since the passing away of our beloved late President John Atta Mills. Regional Ministers, Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives will in collaboration with various Regional Party Executives make arrangements for the observance of the customary one week mourning.**
