Adawukwa/Osae electorate warned against erection of illegal ramps

Winneba, May 8, GNA – Mr Albert Afful, Assemblyman for Adawukwa/Osae/Krodua Electoral Area, has warned the people to desist from erecting illegal speed ramps on the Awutu Bawjiase-Kasoa road to avert accidents.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency at Winneba, Mr Afful, said it was an offence to erect ramps without the approval of the Ghana highway Authority (GHA).

He pointed out that the government spent huge sums of money to construct roads and said that they could not destroy them, adding that the people had genuine cause to erect ramps they should seek permission. Mr Afful noted that even though vehicles had been knocking people down on the route as a result of speeding, they could not take the law into their own hands.

He appealed to the GHA to interact with people living along the road to help them to do the right thing to avert waste of national resources. The Assemblyman appealed to the people to embrace the National Health Insurance Scheme to get affordable quality health care. 08 May 06
